In the MX1 world championship 2008 the 450 SX-F has proven it's performance with many podium positions and several wins. The engine technology of the Max Nagl's and Jonathan Barragan's KTM factory bikes will now be available as the Factory-SXS-Kit, which improves significantly the performance and even the reliability of the 450 SX-F engine.

Components:

• Crankshaft assembly: KTM Motorsport has developed a special high-performance crankshaft assembly The connecting rod is made by the race technology specialist PANKL. Ultra-precise machining and high quality steel guarantee less vibrations and improved reliability.
• High compression piston: A ultra light high compression forged piston of the 450 SX- F guarantees quicker response due to the reduced oscillating masses. A special piston pin developed for Formula-1 engines reduces the friction for improved performance and better reliability.
• Camshaft assembly: For the 450 SX-F DOHC cylinder head KTM Motorsport developed a perfect racing approved camshaft combination with optimized camshaft timing for maximal gas flow and higher overall performance.
• Counter-Balancers: For minimal vibration level the KTM engineers reduced the weight of the counterbalancers to match perfectly with the reduced mass of the lightweight PANKL connecting rod.
• Clutch assembly: When it comes to clutch nearly all factory teams mount components made by the American clutch specialist HINSON. Machined basket and inner hub, pressure plate and a special disc package stand for very precise control and maximal reliability.
• Clutch cover: Includes a machined clutch cover, which offers increased strength and gives a factory bike look.
• Electric Starter: For the starter KTM Motorsport developed a special lightweight one-way clutch basket with oil drills for less friction in the electric starter train and optimal starting.
• Radiators: The special KTM factory radiators with enlarged radiation surface and better efficiency includes hoses and radiator protectors to keep the race engine cool to assure highest performance in every condition.
• Motorsport CDI: A special MSP CDI control unit for the ignition with an optimized mapping guarantees improved performance.
• Gasket set: For the assembly of the kit a complete set of gaskets is included.
